An Erie woman wanted in Florida for violating her probation in a fraud case was jailed today after city police apprehended her while investigating another case on Thursday.
Stefanie Cotton-Russell, 59, of the 3800 block of Myrtle Street, was arraigned this morning before Erie 6th Ward District Judge Dominick DiPaolo on a fugitive from justice charge and was place in the Erie County Prison on $150,000 bond.
Cotton-Russell was wanted by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in Florida for violating probation on a conviction of Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization Act, organized fraud, according to court documents.
Police said they learned that Cotton-Russell was wanted when they went to her residence on Thursday afternoon as part of a separate police investigation.
